Transport Corridor Technician


We have an opportunity for a self-motivated and organised person to join our Infrastructure Alliance Operations team.

As our new Transport Corridor Technician you will be a natural relationship builder, able to move effortlessly in your interactions with units at Council and our external customers. You’ll be an innovative problem solver and strong communicator who can work within the realms of compliance to find solutions. 

The main purpose of this role is ensuring that all corridor access applications (CARS’s) follow and meet the appropriate legislative and agreed procedures (Traffic Management Plans and Health and Safety) for all activities and physical works undertaken within the road corridor. 

On any given day you will be involved in carrying out site inspections, obtaining required permits, resolving identified network issues in a collaborative manner and liaising with event organisers to ensure they understand their responsibilities and the requirements of Hamilton City Council. 

Our ideal candidate will have a clean, current and full NZ driver’s license and a NZ Transport Agency COPTTM – Traffic Control qualification.  You will also need to have a good understanding of Traffic Management, undertaking audits and be able to use the online systems. You’ll be joining a team who are passionate about supporting our growing city and community.
