Creating memorable experiences that attract and engage visitors to Waikato Museum is a key focus for our facility, and we’re looking for an energetic professional to lead on this front.
The Public Programmes Coordinator develops, delivers and promotes public programmes and events for the more than 170,000 people who visit Waikato Museum and ArtsPost annually.
As the Public Programmes Coordinator you will enrich the experience of visitors and the community as you promote and coordinate world-class programmes relating to the Museum’s collections and exhibitions.
Your passion and enthusiasm for museums will be evident in the creative and innovative ideas you generate to attract people of all ages through our doors. As leader of our School Holiday Programmes, experience in working with children and assessing learning outcomes will be essential for your success.
You are a team player with outstanding organisation and communication skills, both written and oral, and a flair for delivering a wide range of programmes to attract and delight Waikato Museum’s wide and varied audience.
You will have at least three years’ experience in designing and delivering public programmes or events in the museum, arts or entertainment sector.

This is a full time position, working Wednesday to Sunday. The recruiting range for this role starts at $56,600 per annum, and could be negotiated for the right candidate.
