Parks Planner


Hamilton is home to over 200 parks and open spaces. From large-scale sports grounds and beautiful destination parks like Taitua Arboretum and Lake Domain, to small neighbourhood parks and playgrounds - there are green spaces available to suit all recreation needs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of Hamilton’s open space network by supporting the Community Group’s input into council’s strategic, policy and planning processes.

Committed to providing exceptional customer service and using your ability to build strong working relationships, you will provide high quality advice to council and customers to ensure good open space outcomes.

You will have sound knowledge of the statutory and planning framework for parks and open spaces planning and management and experience working with the Reserves Act, Resource Management Act and Local Government Act.

You will have the ability to think strategically and have excellent communication skills.

The recruiting range for this role starts at $68,500 per annum and could be negotiated for the right candidate.
