Internal Communications and Marketing Advisor

We are looking for an internal comms person with an edge. We employ more than 1,000 people across multiple locations doing a wide variety of jobs to make living here great.  We have accountants and zookeepers, IT specialists and parking wardens, lifeguards, engineers, laboratory staff and gardeners. We have people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, with a passion for our city and our people. This role is pivotal to engaging all of them, helping them understand and share in our vision so we can all work together to improve the lives of Hamiltonians.

You know internal comms isn’t just about comms anymore – we want you to bring your marketing skills to the table and deliver engaging, effective work that helps the Council deliver to the people of Hamilton. It would be great if you also brought an understanding of change management or organisational development. 

This will be a busy role. As well as the day to day operations of the business, we are embedding our transformation programme that seeks to leverage the capacity and enthusiasm of our staff to make a difference – it’s all about challenging the way we think and the way we do things.

To be successful in the role you will need to be action-oriented, confident, high energy and someone who wants to take the reins. This is a role with heaps of scope so we want someone who can think strategically and execute tactically.

Your ability to take the initiative and get things done have been noticed in your current/previous roles. You’ll also have demonstrated a variety of marketing tactics that have got results. Naturally, you’ll bring your digital marketing and comms understanding and hands-on experience.

The recruiting range for this role starts at $65,000 per annum, and could be negotiated for the right candidate.
