HR Business Support Lead

Permanent - Full Time

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Leader who is customer focussed and has a high level of energy and passion to support their customers and stakeholders.

To be successful you will be able to leverage your exceptional people skills as well as working collaboratively to enable effective working relationships.

Using your HR experience you will bring fresh thinking and a point of difference to both the HR Team and Council. Your ability to contribute ideas at a strategic level together with your proven experience in driving and implementing initiatives will be essential. As a leader, you will be able to positively influence others, demonstrate an ability to partner at all levels of business and manage multiple priorities across competing timescales.

Reporting to the People, Safety and Wellness Manager, you will lead a well-respected team of HR professionals who partner with business units to provide effective advice and support. Your HR philosophy will be complemented by your ability to navigate the political landscape.

As an HR Leader there will be times when you are required to make tough decisions, while remaining empathetic and professional in your delivery. Having a passion for coaching your leadership style will be flexible, supportive and you will demonstrate a commitment to developing your team’s capability as well as championing ‘best in business’ HR systems and processes.

Your in-depth knowledge of legislation combined with your innate ability to influence will enable you to successfully contribute to the development and delivery of strategic and operational people plans.

Applicants must have:

•  Bachelor-level qualification within human resources, business management, organisational psychology or other relevant fields

•  Strong leadership skills with demonstrated change management experience

•  Three or more years of experience in a similar HR business partner or operational HR team leader/manager position

•  Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of employment-related and H&S legislation

•  The ability to mentor, coach and manage others on a day-to-day basis

•  The ability to celebrate the good times and learn from the tough

•  Resilience, with a sense of humour.
