We are looking for a senior financial executive to join Hamilton City Council and provide leadership to the Finance team to cover parental leave for a fixed term through to October 2018.

Reporting to the General Manager-Corporate, you will be developing and leading a high-performing and empowered finance team who partner with the wider organisation and ensure accurate financial advice and reporting are provided to all stakeholders.

You will be an inspirational and positive leader and understand the value in establishing strong relationships with your team to ensure you are ‘Connected’ to achieve the organisation vision. Your well-developed communication skills will enable you to convey your financial knowledge in a meaningful manner to all levels within the organisation. You will have a calm and energetic working style that enables you to operate effectively and make sound decisions even when under pressure.

Financial business acumen, people leadership and an ability to deliver high performance will be critical to success in this role. Additionally, you will have proven experience in a large complex organisation and be driven to build a strong team culture.

Ideally you’ll be available to start with us by the end of September 2017. This is a full-time position ideally working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we are open to discuss flexible hours with the right candidate.
