Event Technician - Technical Services
H3’s Technical Services team is at the heart of the world-class events held in Hamilton.
Working across H3’s FMG Stadium Waikato, Seddon Park and Claudelands venues, our staff are responsible for the audio-visual, lighting and rigging aspects of the wide variety of events our clients bring to Hamilton – be it televised international and representative sport, corporate functions and conferences, or live stage performances.
An internal promotion for one of our team has created a vacancy for an experienced, committed and hard-working technical professional to join us in a business where no two days on the job are the same. This is not a role for a novice or someone just starting out in their career: we need a skilled individual with a minimum of five years’ experience in digital audio and network systems. Someone who knows the gear they’ll be using, and how to get the best out of it.
Based at Claudelands, this position also requires proficiency in handling and operating lighting and rigging systems, so you need to be competent with handling and operating a wide range of lighting, audio-visual and rigging systems. You must be able to work at heights, with a strong focus on health and safety on the job.
You’ll bring an ability to thoroughly understand the clients’ needs, work in a tight-knit team, and possess a smart adaptability enabling you to turn your hand to any task you’re given. You will need great communication skills and also have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The events we work on aren’t always Monday to Friday, so you’ll need to be flexible and prepare to do weekend work.
H3 is part of the Hamilton City Council and this is your chance to be part of an organisation focusing on being commercially sound, having great facilities and strong links to the river.
If this role sounds like it’s for you, we would love to hear from you.
All candidates will be notified of the outcome on their application via email. Short-listed candidates will be required to complete an interview process, reference checks, pre-employment medical and drug assessments and Ministry of Justice or Police vetting check.
