Development and Senior Development Engineer

We are the heart of the mighty Waikato, and one of the fastest-growing cities in the country and we are on the search for a Development Engineer and a Senior Development Engineer to join our highly influential and fast-paced Development team at Hamilton City Council.

These are varied and exciting roles.  You will lead and oversee new developments in the city right through from the consent stage to works completion.  This will involve providing engineering advice for Resource consents, reviewing and approving engineering plans, site audits and certifying completed works.

Our ideal candidates will have experience in local body engineering and have knowledge of some or all, water, storm water, waste water and transport infrastructure planning and engineering. Knowledge of the Resource Management Act is preferred but not essential.

Along with technical knowledge, you will also have attention to detail, be customer focused, have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships externally, with the development community, consultants and other units of the Council.
