Contract & Services Manager


We have an exciting new opportunity for a highly skilled professional to take up a key role in our team.

As Hamilton City Council’s Information Services (IS) Contracts and Services Manager, you will manage the contracts of, and relationships with our technology suppliers, oversee our financial budgets, and lead improvements in our financial analysis and reporting mechanisms.

The Contracts and Services Manager reports to the Chief Information Officer, and the role is responsible for:

  • Management of key vendor contracts, including review of RFP processes, resolving contractual issues and ensuring all terms and conditions of commercial agreements are being met
  • Identification of new opportunities to optimise IS unit functions through third-party services or in-sourcing
  • Development and analysis of financial performance metrics for both the short-term and long-term
  • Management of the IS budgets.

Ideally, you will have a tertiary qualification in Business Commerce or similar. You will have proven experience in procurement/contract management working in medium to large organisations.

As an individual, you will have strong contract negotiation experience, and sound financial and analytical skills with managing budgets and developing metrics. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multitask and prioritise projects, and taking a team-orientated and results-focused approach are key success factors for this role.
