Communication and Engagement Advisors - Growth

Want to be part of the buzz?

We’re on the hunt for two enthusiastic and energetic people to join our fast-paced and exciting communication and engagement team at Hamilton City Council.

Our great river city is buzzing. We are embracing people’s desire to live, work and do business in Hamilton and supporting our city’s biggest-ever capital spend to enable quality, sustainable growth.

We’re all about connecting our community and our council. It’s about making sure our community is not only aware of what’s going on in their city but giving them the opportunity to be part of it.

We’ve changed our team structure to provide the very best communication and engagement support for our growth portfolio, and this is where you’ll come in.

We have one full-time advisor role and one 24-month fixed term role available for the right people.

You’ll have proven skills and experience in delivering strategic and tactical communication to a range of audiences and stakeholders. You can deliver a strategy for a 12-month programme, a plan for a two-day project and a consultation campaign – and enjoy doing it!  You can explain complicated projects simply and you can spot risks and opportunities in a heartbeat. You’ll need to be a team player, have a positive attitude and be able to think outside the square to deliver the best results for our council and our community.

You’ll understand local government, be familiar with engagement best practice and be keen to use your superb written communication skills to tell the great stories of our city.

Hamilton City Council is committed to being a high-performance organisation with people who think differently, act with integrity, make it happen and work together.

This is your chance to be part of an organisation that is committed to building a more vibrant, attractive and prosperous city.
